This is Myles’s third year at Sabot exploring the art of language with students through Socratic Seminars, writing workshops, independent reading groups, and literary explorations. Having worked in a variety of educational environments – including as a historical interpreter at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and a writing tutor in a maximum-security prison – Myles came to Sabot after completing his Masters of Arts in Teaching in Literature at Bard College. While growing up in rural Maine, Myles discovered his love for reading and writing at the Center for Teaching and Learning, a small school founded and led by Nancie Atwell, whose reading and writing workshop approaches have long inspired and informed our work.

In addition to his teaching role, Myles serves as the Homeroom Teacher for 7th Grade.
