Classroom Practice to Teach Fair Use
I appreciate that you shared this journey here, Joseph. I think many educators follow this arc from confusion to clarity when trying to navigate copyright in the classroom.
As a follow up, and this is a question for anyone, I am curious what your classroom practice concerning these concepts looks like. Do you engage students in the process of evaluating their use of copyrighted material for class projects? Are there direct lessons on fair use and copyright? Is it a skill you teach? Have you used the Media Education Lab videos with students? I would love to see student work and hear student voices related to this.
